How a new telecom provider changes the rules

June 9, 2013 - Monetization

Since I have a corporate phone plan, I do not have to deal with selecting the best one out of a huge group of providers with complicated pricing plans.

The highly commoditized telecom market in the Netherlands is about to be shook on the fundaments with newcomer Robin Mobile (https://www.robinmobile.nl/). This fresh new player derived its name from Robin Hood, to fight against the ‘establishment’. Their value proposition: Flat-rate monthly fee of 40 euros, unlimited everything (data, texts, minutes) and monthly cancellation. Compare Robin Mobile’s simplicity with the existing mammoths of telecom complexity, and you get an entirely different ball game.
